A Little Whore Couture

My Beauty Base Zero

I first heard about this blogger challenge on GoGo’s Juicy Bomb blog and immediately knew I had to do it.  It’s not often you see a blogger stripped down to no make-up, no jewels, no flash or flair but just themselves, or their Basic Base Zero.  This challenge originated from Portia Pexington at her blog Something New, where you can go to learn even more about it.

Other bloggers I’ve seen do this challenge seem to pick a saved outfit that they use before they put an outfit together.  Something clean and simple that they just default too.  I might be the only blogger than that does not have any saved default outfits, not a one.  Typically I just strip myself naked and go from there lol, but since I can’t really post that, I put together a fresh look using what I consider to be my main, can’t  live without items. My main skin from Glam Affair,  favorite green eyes from Mayfly and mesh feet from J’s are what I always go back to; They are the things that I consider to be me, no matter how much I change my eyes or skins or hair.  I also can’t forget to mention that this is my original, un-modded shape created by me ages ago.  Like most of us today I have various shapes to fit different types of mesh clothing, but when I can and when I’m naked this is always the “me” I go back to.  So, what is your Beauty Base Zero?

Lazy Summer Days

Growing up close to the shore of Lake Michigan for a huge part of my life has left me with so many memories of fun, silly, lazy times down by the shore. One of my fave things to do was/is to take a walk along the water and watch the waves, I find it incredibly peaceful! The latest release from Medley would be a perfect fit for those cooler days or mornings especially when paired with my fave capris from Kyoot! The perfectly named Lazy Tee is mesh and comes in nine colors as well as several different sizes. As with any mesh be sure to demo before you buy to make sure it fits. I absolutely adore this entire look so much, this shirt is just an example of why I love mesh so much!

An earthy summer look of the day today with the help of the Whitehaven Beach dress from Kyoot and hair from Wasabi Pills.  The dress and the jewelry from EarthStones are both available at this month’s Collabor88, which is full of awesome beach inspired goodies.  My uber cute Zoey hair is one of Wasabi’s mesh offerings for this year’s Hair Fair 2012 and was a perfect balance for the sexy dress.  Lastly the One Voice Fundraiser to help Gala Phoenix of Curio is still going on and I have not been able to take this Gala skin from Izzie’s off yet.  I simply adore it, it is so stunning! A Shabby Summer Night

Since I was just in a simple kinda mood and yesterday was my six month blogaversary I decided to go with this great new little mesh top from Apple May Designs.  It comes in three different colors and multiple sizes.  I went with pink and paired it with my fave capris from Kyoot.  Since I haven’t wanted to really wear shoes the last few days I decided to just stay barefoot!  It was also nice to just relax, surrounded by candle light as I looked over my land and looked up at the stars.

The shabby chic set that found it’s place under my Magnolia tree is currently available from :::am dsgn::: which is thier offering for the Keep Calm and Keep Shopping event.  I absolutely love this set, which includes not only the couch, rug, chairs and table that are shown, but also a bed, wall art and shelf!  The rug has five texture change options with the table cloth having two.  There are multiple sits in the couch and chairs and everything is also copy/mod.  The candles are not included but are from What Next, they just went perfect with setting this night time scene.

It’s My Bag!

Today I’m showing you a new bag set from Sparrowtree Studios which I wanted the second I saw it!  The set includes six different poses and one bag that can be personalized for any letter you choose just by clicking the bag.   The poses are not built into the bag which I love because you have the flexiblity to use this bag or any bag you choose, or no bag at all!  Yes these poses are great to use all on thier own!

I also wanted to show you these new cute tops from Somnia that will be available at the upcoming Culture Shock event starting May 4th.  They come in a wide variety of colors broken down into a darks pack and a lights pack.  I love how there is that little bit of black lace trim peeking out around the cleavage, and yes I love how my cleavage looks in this tee.  There is nothing worse than a shirt that makes my boobs look all frumpy.

Lastly I just had to show you this new face piercing from Atooly.  I love that it is delicate enough to still be feminine while at the same time giving you some originality.

A Sunny Day At Collabor88

Collabor88 is one of my fave events and I get so excited whenever a new round begins, this time was no different!  As you can see by my post this is why, there is always such amazing gems to be had there I can hardly contain myself! When it came to clothes, Kyoot was the winner for me with these adorable capris and striped cropped sweaters.  I was sure to pick up both the red and the dark blue/navy in both since I could not decide which I liked more! 

Lisp did it again this round with two incredible new items!  Today I am showing you the sunny day parasol that comes in the parasol/umbrella pack that is currently out for only 148L! Included in the set are both the umbrella with rainy day poses and the parasol with sunny day poses all build right into the object, all you have to do is wear!  Each are of-course texture change so you have more options and the best part for me was that you get one of each to simply wear with your AO!  Since I just recently was relocated to a new parcel of land by my landlady I decided to just take some pics while I roamed around my land trying to get some ideas of what to do with it.  I have close to a half of homestead to fill, so that should be keeping me busy!

Lastly I just have to make note of the fun Pop Rocks mouthies that BTS Designs released as part of an outfit for this weeks Whore Certified.  I had just been out looking to find some Pop Rocks mouthies since I am on a Pop Rocks kick in RL and simply could not find any on the grid.  So you can imagen how gleeful I was when I saw these!  They are exactly what I wanted!   It really is the simple things in life ya know?

Casual Thursday LOTD

Just a few new faves that I wanted to share with you all today!  First of all…I did it, I finally gave in and bought my first mesh hair. I’ve been watching a lot of the mesh hair hitting the blogs lately, especially the ones from Wasabi Pills and managed to fight the urge to give it a try until I saw the latest release, Amandine.  It reminds me of one of my all time favorite styles from ETD so after a few days of drooling I just had to.  I love it!  Besides the style and it’s utter cuteness factor, I love that I didn’t have to do any editing when I posed for my pics!  It’s wonderful how it just goes with the movements of the body. <3

Next new fave would be the jeans from Atomic.  I was lucky enough to catch them on the last day they were 50% off but thier normal price is only 150L which I still think is a steal for the quality that you get.  Now why are these jeans a new fave you ask?  I mean afterall I have so many jeans in my inventory to start with what is another pair right?  Well, what I love about these is that they are a skinny cut and the prim cuff is slim and sleek.  Most skinny type  jeans seem to have a bunchy type of prim at the ankle which is ok but I find a bit unflattering and wierd.  Also can’t forget the amazing texture quality of the jeans either, just love love them!  I think I will need to buy a few more pairs for my inventory.

A last new fave would be the lipstick from Acid and Mala that is currently available at The Black Market.  Not only do I love the gloss factor on this lipstick, I also love the fact that it comes with different percentages for each color.  For example you have the color red, which comes in 20%, 40%, 60% etc of intensity.  Just another way that you can customize your makeup look!

Stumblebum is Back!

I must have been living under a rock because I never heard of the first Stumblebum, but I’m super glad I heard about this one!  It has some of my fave designers on the grid involved and the offerings are awesome!  From Truth I got this super cute hair called Velvet, pigtails that can be worn with or without the ribbons.  The ribbons themselves are texture change and come with a wide variety of colors to choose from.  From Kyoot there is the shirt and knee sock combo, which I love!  It comes in four different colors and I would have bought them all if my pocketbook hadn’t taken such a hit over the last couple weeks lol.  I settled on cream because for some reason I have gotten into some sort of phase of wanting to wear lots of white, not that you can probably tell by all my blogs where I’m dressed in black! 

 The last thing I want to show you is the super cute elephant jewelry I found from Undefined Lilies.  I love elephants in RL and have collected lots of things dealing with elephants over the years so when I saw these sets I got so excited!  It’s pretty rare that you find anything dealing with elephants in SL so I just had to snatch atleast one up for my collection!  It comes in five other colors and although the earrings and necklace are sold seperately they are reasonably priced and come with both gold and silver chain options included.

I’ve seen this hair from Lelutka around the blogs for awhile and loved it, finally, I got around to heading down to the store and trying it on for myself. You can see the result below!
